Some interview 2000 ? Never published, I assume.
1.
What attracts you in playing grind 'n'gore?
-Speed, brutality & simple barbaric approach of the music. Greatest elements of grind
is to include maximum amount of energy into short song.
2.
Porn seems to be very important part of Creamface, why is this big interest in porn? Is
this to have a different image from other grind'n'gore bands, a way of getting noticed in
the big scene? Or do you play porn grind as you're interested in porn itself and you were
looking for a way to express this interest in a musical way?
-Porn is the essence of Creamface. It's the reason for bands existence, not way to get
noticed. I'm personally interest in pornography and collector of perverse & bizarre
material. I also own young video production company & therefore work among porn
industry.
3.
How do people react on this way of extreme porn grind metal?
-I never have got any negative reactions. Maybe it's because people contact me - I don't
contact people. I get positive feedback only. If I would send promo material to regular
grind/metal/hc magazines and trade with a lot people, I think some of them could be
disgusted or offended. That is not the purpose of Creamface. People who contact me are
grind & porn fans and they are glad to see someone is doing 100% porno grind.
4.
Are you fond of porn movies?
-I'm die hard collector of most types of perverted & exceptional porno. Videos and
magazines, Not any of this internet porno
clips or pics. I'm not very interested in
regular hardcore (not to mention softcore bullshit), but basically anything extraordinary
goes.
5.
What's in your eyes too extreme in porn movies? Like child abuse or SM.
-Nothing. I've seen basically everything one can see, but nothing is yet too extreme that
it would not have entertaining value.
SM is something I'm also involved for certain extent, and I find it quite amusing that
producing & selling such videos is illegal in Finland. Even more amusing it is that
some grind kids use it as "shock value", although they are not in any way
involved with it or have no guts nor interest to ever be.
6.
Why did you decide to play porn grind in the first place? What are your biggest
influences?
-I haven't been big fan of any porno grind band. Usually it looks like boys are going
through their frustrations of never having managed to lick & fuck pussy. Bands use
some old & boring photos of cheap porno magazines as artwork and growling nonsense
over sloppy music. Rarely there even is pure porno grind. Mostly it is mixture with gore
stuff and clearly porn is used as shock tactic. But as it doesn't shock or disgust me,
that kind of porn grind has no value.
When I heard grind for first time it was 1st Blood (ger) album & 2 first Napalm Death
albums. Those can be taken as biggest influences. O.L.D., Confusion (col), Sore Throat,
... etc. They are what I like, but can't be considered as huge influences, especially not
lyrically!
I don't clearly remember how I decided to play porn grind. I think I just wanted to do
some low tuned and fast, but simple and basic grind with lyrics & artwork what I
personally would like to see, but never have experienced from others. I'm big fan of
cumshot & bukkake videos, and I came up with Creamface -name & idea for the whole
concept behind the band. When it's something you're truly into, you're not going to give
up soon.
7.
Many grind 'n' gore bands state that porn grind bands ridicule the whole scene, what's
your opinion to this one?
-I don't wonder it. Like I said in question above, quality is not very high. Most of porn
grind can't be "taken seriously". But in the other hand, I could say gore
grinders ridicule whole scene. They sing about "sick" and "extreme"
things, might adore some serial killers or directors of gory horror flicks. And that's it.
After all, they might be some high school kids fooling around. I direct, act, release,
manufacture & distribute porn. Some new covers of Creamface stuff is made by myself,
actual cum filled porn photos. I live that life. How many gore grinder are mutilating
corpses & eating maggots in their private life?
When politically correct "anarcho-grinders" point the finger at me calling me
sexist and giving bad name to grind, I can just pity them. I piss on their liberal
moralism & secret conservative attitude.
8.
On the web site you can catch some pics of a girl covered with sperm holding a cd of
Creamface under her face... Who is this? Was it easy to convince her doing this? I mean
your face covered with sperm, whole world being able to see this...
-I doubt that whole world is going to see it. When you decide to enter adult business, you
must do it with pride. I respect any girl who proudly is in porn business and doesn't give
a shit what unimportant people might think of it. Seducing girls to pose in pics is never
easy. We live in the world where majority of people adore & consume or want to
consumer porn, but despise people who do that. Girls might get "bad reputation",
what can even force them try try hide their true identity. All this is just result of
christian morals, and I have nothing to do with it. That girl is also "starring"
in some blowjob/cum eating videos.
9.
Why do you think extreme grind'n'gore bands use extreme artwork? Dead people, chopped off
heads, abused children, blood,...? Is it just a part of the music like black metal just
had to have corpse paint?
-One could say that extreme music demands extreme lyrics (& visuals). Aggressive
growling or screaming needs aggressive subject. It would not fit if you scream violently
about flowers and rainbows. They are not reasons to be screamed off. With Creamface I use
low vomiting growls which are not "aggressive", but perverted & obscure -
and therefore fit to porn subject.
Each music style has its own traditions. Grind has diverse concepts, as it's often melting
pot between various metal styles and hardcore. Gore grind is only part of it, although big
part.
10.
What do you think of the artwork you use yourself?
-That something I find the best & most suitable for this music. If I would not, I
wouldn't use it. I'm extremely satisfied with all Creamface artwork.
-It's not so "extreme". It's just perverted & filthy obsession of
wanting to see good looking girls with their faces covered in cum. Creamface is about own
interests, not about what other people react on that. When I did first demo, I had no
plans to make more than 20 copies of it. Thing has just grown on its own.
12.
What's in your eyes the difference between American and European grind'n'gore scene? Is it
better to be big in america or in Europe?
-I don't know. I don't actively follow todays grind scene. I hear many bands, but
I can't comment on whole scene as it's rather big! I'm not interested to be big anywhere.
That's not the purpose of Creamface. If record sell more - that's ok, but it's not why
band was formed.
-Too hard to say. I listen many music styles, not only grind. There are a lot of
good bands. Bands what have been experienced at first, have made biggest impacts. No
matter how fast, strong, sick, brutal etc new band would be, they could never make such
impact what for example Blood "Impulse To Destroy" LP did when I heard it for
the first time.
14.
Grind'n'gore never became a big trend like black metal and death metal were. Do you think
grind will always stay an underground way of music? Why do you think death and black metal
ever became such a big trend (and died a rather sudden death)? Any why did this never
happened to grind?
-I'm tired of hearing that Death metal or black metal is dead. They are not. Death metal
has existed and been big all these years. More in usa than in europe. But Brutal DM is
again bigger here. Black metal was never THAT big. Bands of 2nd generation bm, especially
norwegian bands are well known, but sales are rather small when compared to big names of
DM. When you call these big "dark pussy metal" bands black metal, it's as true
as if you'd say Madonna plays noisecore. None of the real black metal bands ever got big
success, they remain in underground among their true supporters just like grindcore. Black
metal is doing better than ever, I think. It's far from being dead.
Napalm Death was BIG. Carcass is well known, but most of grind since that has been in
underground for real fans only. I don't see any reason why it should grow bigger. When you
enter the mainstream, you face limitations and restrictions. Even labels who should
support you are afraid of using certain covers or printing some lyrics if they find it too
"offensive". In underground we don't have any of those problems.
15.
Is grind'n'gore alive according to you?
-Yes. Even in finland, I think it's bigger than for years. There are many bands and more
being formed all the time. I just hope growth doesn't suffocate itself to low quality
garbage.
16.
Gore without limits? Bands are always looking for something more extreme, won't there be a
border that once will be crossed? Like the existence of porn grind bands. Where will all
this end?
-I think it would be interesting to see more of bands taking their image into real world.
Gore grind bands who'd come up with for example video of their real grave digging, corpse
sodomizing habits. That would be excellent. There's nothing to be explored in grindcore
visuals or lyrics. It's all done. I'm waiting for those who practice it.
